Statement of Intent
My “simple” sketchbook is a product of my creativity, skills, and abilities. I explored how to portray my creative ideas and techniques in a personal and professional way. I formatted the front to encourage my viewers to understand the organized chaos of creativity in my mind being represented. I added different colors and mediums to add to the complex representation of my mind and to have the viewers study my process of exploration.

This project was overall very fun and allowed me to explore many new things. I learned how to use the laser cutter, bind different materials together, and more Adobe Illustrator skills. After multiple fails and experiments, I was able to create a sketchbook that represents my artistic side, while still being professional.
During the critique with my classmates, the responses were all similar and I completely agreed with them all. From what I gathered, I should continue the gold color that shines through on the front throughout the book and onto the back cover. I also would add more to the collage on the front and continue the newspaper collage to the back cover to get rid of space. I was inspired by my classmates to add a binding that was more creative and colorful.
